Enjoying Jazzfest at Schenley Plaza

Just some photos of Jazz Day in the Park at Schenley Plaza

The Pittsburgh Jazz Society is very happy to announce that the application for the PJS/BNY Mellon scholarship is online. You can find the scholarship packet at www.pittsburghjazz.orgZ or on Facebook @ Tony Mowod. One of the objectives of the Pittsburgh Jazz Society (one of our most important objectives that we work for all year) is to provide a scholarship to a student in need who is continuing their education in music. With the help of BNY Mellon and all of your donations we are able to provide those scholarships.
We have also begun working on the details of Jazz Day in the Park at Schenley Plaza. Our volunteers have started sending out requests for donations to make this FREE festival a HUGE success. This festival is where everyone can come and enjoy some of the most amazing, talented Jazz musicians that Pittsburgh has to offer. It is here that Tony Mowod will present the scholarship winner. With the help of donations at the Sunday Night concerts and our members renewing their memberships and new members joining throughout the year, we are sometimes able to provide other smaller scholarships. Also, based on PJS members’ votes, he inducts a few musicians into the Pittsburgh Jazz Society Pittsburgh’s Jazz Hall of Fame! The Jazzfest is one of the most family friendly Jazz concerts. Located in the heart of Oakland at Schenley Plaza, families bring picnic baskets and blankets or chairs or you can enjoy food from one of the many shops in Schenley Plaza. The children love to ride the merry-go-round and throw coins into the fountain. All while they get to experience live Jazz from some of the best artists. It is an experience that they, and you, will never forget.
Be sure to check the Pittsburgh Jazz Society website at www.pittsburghjazz.orgZ">http://www.pittsburghjazz.orgZ and Facebook @ Tony Mowod in a few weeks for the incredible line-up of musicians who will be performing at the Jazzfest.
