Student participants in the Financial Literacy Program

In addition to presenting the learning materials in the State Farm "Dollars & Sense" books, students will participate in a hands on real life simulation. Students will draw a salary, paying bills and investing. They will face decisions on home and car purchases. Weekly quiz scores will be used to evaluate retention of knowledge and salary increase.  As part of our focus on entrepreneurship, students will learn from guest speakers, minority business owners, Pittsburgh Technology Council leaders, and business banking experts. Students will also learn about writing a business plan from a member of the National Black MBA Pittsburgh chapter.

Approximately, twenty-four (24) students will participate in the seven week program.
